Start OBIEE Client: admintool
Create desktop shortcut from C:\Program
Files\Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition Plus
Client\oraclebi\orahome\bifoundation\server\bin\

New Repository Creation:
When you try to create a “New Repository”
then it may shows you “The connection
has failed” as shown below:(If first time use)

Note: If connection fail error occurs then follow the below steps.
[Off course initially it fails, then follow below steps]
2] Folder
Creation [network\admin] :
Create the folders “network\admin” in C:\Program Files\Oracle Business Intelligence
Enterprise Edition Plus Client\oraclebi\orahome\
After creation it should be “ C:\Program Files\Oracle Business
Intelligence Enterprise Edition Plus Client\oraclebi\orahome\network\admin”
[Note: If you don’t have permission to create folders,
Co-ordinate with concerned person/helpdesk team to provide permission
on “Oracle Business Intelligence
Enterprise Edition” folder i.e. at C:\Program Files\
3] TNSNAME Entry:
Copy the tnsnames.ora file
From: oracle home folder
“C:\oracle\product\11.1.0\client_1\network\admin”.
To: “C:\Program Files\Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition
Plus Client\oraclebi\orahome\network\admin\”
4] Environment
Variable Entry:
Right click on My Computer ->Properties->Advanced ->
Environment Variables. Click on New
Then
enter “TNS_ADMIN” for the “Variable Name” field and for the “Variable Value”
enter the location of your OBIEE tns file. i.e.” C:\Program Files\Oracle
Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition Plus
Client\oraclebi\orahome\network\admin”
Please refer screenshot.
Take a new OBIEE session; try to create a new repository. Enjoy !!
