OBIEE 12c Released
The new version Oracle Business Intelligence 12c (12.2.1.0.0) is now available for download on Oracle OTN for Linux, Windows, Solaris, AIX and UX. It needs JDK 8 to install.

Oracle Data Visualization
The most interesting feature that has been added in this release is new Data Visualization capability in OBIEE 12c, something that has been available on Oracle’s BI Cloud Service [Oracle BICS]. This is a completely new powerful visualization application introduced in OBIEE12C.

Visual Analyzer is the primary data visualization tool in Oracle Data Visualization.

·         BISystemUser and BISystem Removed
·         User GUIDs Removed

Detail Level:
·         To simplify administration and configuration, no longer requires a real user called BISystemUser for internal communication. The application role BISystem is also no longer present in the Policy Store, and will be removed from any upgraded 11g environment.
·          GUIDs are replaced with user names. There is no longer any need to refresh GUIDs as part of lifecycle operations. Your administrator is now responsible for ensuring that users leaving the system are cleaned up from Oracle Business Intelligence.
·         Security Store (Policy and Credential Stores) is configured in a relational database rather than in a file. The database is the same as used by RCU. This change makes scaling easier, and makes clusters more reliable.
·         In this release configuring SSL end to end is now less complex and uses offline commands.
·         In this release a new process enables you to migrate Catalog groups to application roles.
