Filter Values Setting in Yellowfin BI Reports

Filter Values Setting in Yellowfin BI Reports
There are different options available when it comes to filter values. As a report writer you can choose to set:
User Prompt: Define the filter value to match when the report run.
Defined Value: Sets the value during the report creation process so the report is always restricted to the same result subset.
Pre-Defined Period: Uses a date range on the report. This option is only available for date or timestamp fields.
1) User Prompts:
A) Manual User Entry: The user will manually enter values for the filter
In this manual user entry, we have option for user enter manually without fetching from database if disable Allow Prompt.

B) Value List Selection: The user will select values for the filter from list provided. This list may either be provided by an Org Ref Code or Cached Filters.

Value List Setup:
Cached Values: Create a list of values by caching the current contents of the field in the database.
Cached Values on Demand: Create a list of values by loading the contents of the field each time the report is loaded
Custom Query: Create a list of values by caching the current contents of the field in the database using a custom SQL query.
Custom Query Cached on Demand: Create a list of values on query demand.

2) Defined Values: These values are hard coded values for report.

3) Pre-Defined Filter:
Note: Pre-defined filters are available only for Date/Timestamp columns only

End of topic, Happy Learning !

Thanks !
